I was invited to participate in “Ways of the Cross,” a Lenten reflection on the Stations of the Cross at Salina’s Christ Cathedral. My contribution is a mixed media painting inspired by the 9th Station: Jesus Falls for the Third Time. Each year, in the four weeks leading to Easter, people gather on Wednesday evenings at Christ Cathedral to “walk the way,” represented by wood-carved stations stops, to pray and hear music, engaging in a multisensory way with the last few days and hours of the life of Jesus, including those he interacted with. “The addition of each artist’s interpretation of their chosen Station will make this experience even more special this year,” says Mo. Shay Craig, Dean of Christ Cathedral.
