Two exhibitions and an online project
Hello, everyone. I’m currently participating in two exhibitions, and want to pass along some information about each of them. And there’s a fun project at the end that you can do, too!
The exhibition, “Way of the Cross,” opens Friday, February 16 from 5:30-8:30pm at Christ Cathedral, 138 S. 8th St. in Salina. I was invited to participate in this show and contributed a mixed media painting inspired by the 9th Station: Jesus Falls for the Third Time. READ MORE
Collective Retrospective
I’m also included in the Collective Retrospective project. The brainchild of Cindy Zimmerman, artists submitted two works of art representing how they and their work had changed over the years, along with a written statement. READ MORE
This year I’m doing in #The100DayProject starting February 18. The idea is simple: choose a creative project, do it every single day for 100 days. My project is focused on drawing quickly and improving my hand-eye coordination. I’ll be using my Time Timer to make 5-minute blind contour (not looking at the paper) portraits of someone whose birthday is on that particular day. They’ll be posted on Instagram using the hashtag #The100DayProject. I’m adding my own hashtag, #100BirthdaysPHD, so I can keep track of my drawings amongst the creative sea of participants. Follow those hashtags to see the progress (and probably some pretty wonky drawings!) starting this Sunday.
Why not do your own 100-day project, and post the results for all of us to see! If you do, let me know so I can watch for you.
